And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

Boys Will Be Boys | Bush Hall | 25 Jun-30 Jul
I like plays that focus on women, because shows that focus on women are still significantly less common than those dominated by men. Set in the city, still – I think we can all agree – a world dominated by men, and depicting the relationship between two women working on the trading floor, the production promises exhilaration, cabaret music, and an all female cast. So that’s me sold. See this page here for more info.

The truth is that if you tell me a show is by the Flanagan Collective, I will immediately add its dates to my diary, no matter what that show is; so when I saw that the Incoming Festival included a one-off performance of the company’s latest shows, I was quite excited. This is the show that they’ll be taking up to the Edinburgh Festival this year, so if you want to see a big-hit-of-the-Fringe before it actually hits the Fringe, make sure you don’t miss this. Head this way for all the details.

Now, you might have to be careful about which performance of this you go to see because one night it’s in French and the other it’s in English, but you bilingual folks will be okay. It is of course an adaptation of French bard Moliere’s ‘Le Medecin Malgre Lui’, but it sounds like this takes a fairly novel approach to the piece. This is part of French theatre festival Bastille 2016, so you might want to have a look at what else is on here but the listing for this particular show is here.
