And today’s ThisWeek-tipped, LDN-based events are…

Pub Quiz For Kids | Jack Studio | 26 Jun
I picked this for three reasons: firstly, my daughter absolutely loves to do quizzes; secondly, it’s produced by one of my favourite companies, Story Pocket Theatre; and three, one of our favourite comedy performers, Patrick Monahan is at the helm. To be fair, the show doesn’t sound like it’s quite what you’d expect from the title (not, in fact, a chance to show off your general knowledge), but whatever happens in it, I feel this Edinburgh preview going to be good. See this page here to book.

Elf Lyons – Pelican | Leicester Square Theatre | 26 Jun (pictured)
Elsewhere in Edfringe previews, the rather talented Elf Lyons brings hers to Leicester Square tonight. In it, the recent graduate of French clown school L’Ecole Philippe Gaulier explores the age-old fear of turning into your mother, and what it means to “have it all”. Marcel Lucont’s Cabaret Fantastique | London Wonderground | 26 Jun+10 Jul
And talking of France, everyone’s favourite faux-Frenchman heads to London Wonderground today for the first of two instalments of his much loved Cabaret Fantastique. His line up of guests for the evening is super: award winning comedian Boothby Graffoe, Australian cabaret stars Gypsy Wood and Reuben Kaye, and London based burlesque regular Agent Lynch. See the page here for details on this performance, and the one in July.
