Okay, it’s Sunday, and let’s face it, it will probably be raining, so let’s start with something to entertain those little ones. A sweet little show for your 4-7 year olds, it tells the story of the relationship between a bear and a caterpillar, and how said bear deals with the confusion of his friend’s transformation into a beautiful butterfly. Renowned children’s theatre types Hullabaloo are the team behind it, so you can expect good things. See this page here for more info and tickets.
Grounded | The Park Theatre | 27 Oct-21 Nov
This has already been on a while, and I haven’t yet tipped it, because I am foolish. Or, you know, busy, important, and struggling to find time to do everything. But this looks great, and you’ve still got a couple of weeks left to fit it into your super busy schedule. So, I suppose I should tell you something about the actual show: well, the play, if you haven’t heard of it, tells the story of a former fighter pilot, reassigned to operating military drones from a distance, and was first staged as a one woman show back in 2013 to great acclaim. This version, from Deaf-led producers Deafinitely Theatre features two performers, who together combine British Sign Language, visual storytelling and the spoken word. More info here.
Into The Hoods: Remixed | Peacock Theatre | 23 Oct-14 Nov
Er, yes, so, I was a bit slow off the mark about this one, too, but I feel as though this is a show that you probably should see if you haven’t already. Even if you saw it back when it first blew everyone away, this is the ‘remixed’ version of Zoonation’s award winning hip hop dance piece, so you might want to see it again anyway.
