And the LDN-based events the ThisWeek team is tipping today are…
COMEDY: Tasty Combo Go To Hell! | The Camden Head | 21-24 Aug
Tipped sketch crazies Tasty Combo present their new show, which is set in hell – hence the title. In it, a failed writer-of-skits considers making a pact with the devil in exchange for improved comic skills, but first asks old Satan to show him around a bit. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC: Goldfrapp | Royal Naval College | 21 Aug (pictured)
Stylish synthpop-ologist Alison Goldfrapp and band collaborator Will Gregory “can’t wait” (they claim) to play this one-time open air show, which slots nicely into this year’s Greenwich Music Time festival. It’s the pair’s only British show of 2014, and celebrates their sterling new LP ‘Tales Of Us’. Details and tickets here.
MUSIC: This Is The Kit | Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden, Southbank Centre | 21 Aug
The Nest Collective and SB Centre present meadow-fresh folk ambience via This Is The Kit – aka Paris, Bristol-based singer-songwriter Kate Stables, who’s joined by a cast of unplugged guitarists, banjo players, hornblowers and laptop operators. Details and tickets here.
