Cabaret Circus Comedy Dance & Physical Film Theatre
Today in London: Friday 24 May 2013
By TW Editorial | Published on Wednesday 22 May 2013
FAO Londoners wavering on that tricky Bank Holiday brink, thinking “what shall I do tonight?”, we have just the ticket – or rather, tickets – to make this Friday a good – nay, great – way to kick things off…
TODAY’S CABARET CHOICES
Friday Night Freakshow presents… EastEnd Cabaret, Udderbelly Southbank, 24 May
TW London’s fab and famously kinky pals EastEnd Cabaret, who’ll be titillating and/or tickling the Udderbelly teat tonight as hosts-with-the-most of Time Out Live’s characteristically odd pre-weekend showcase. Details and tickets here.
TODAY’S CIRCUS CHOICES
Flown, Stratford Circus, 24-25 May (pictured)
Soon to drop in (like literally, from a great height) on this year’s Udderbelly festival, international circus clique Pirates Of The Carabina soar over to Stratford for a pair of shows, mixing dizzying aerial and acrobatic feats with acts of comic chaos and bold physicality. Oh, and an ‘abstract’ live score. Details and tickets here.
TODAY’S FILM CHOICES
Rooftop Film Club presents… Experience Cinema, Leonard Street Carpark, 24-26 May
The RFC will be showing a triple-bill of glitzy musical-cinema giants; all OTT, all involving wireless headphones, fancy dress, and optional singing and dancing. Tonight’s film choice is a ‘concert style screening’ of Prince’s ultra-camp ‘Purple Rain’ circa 1984, with ‘Grease’ and ‘Dirty Dancing’ still to come. Details and tickets here.
