Topping today’s arts options (in TW London’s mind, anyway) are the following…

TODAY’S COMEDY CHOICES

Nick Revell, Downstairs at The Phoenix, 11 Aug (pictured)
Perrier-nominated cynic Nick Revell aims satirical jibes at parties and politicians as the closing act at London’s first ever Phoenix Fringe Festival. Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S MUSIC CHOICES

Owen Pallett, Village Underground, 11 Aug
Acclaimed Canadian composer and guest strings-player on LPs by The National, Arcade Fire, Franz Ferdinand and… Linkin Park, Owen Pallett‘s fairly ‘intimate’ live itinerary finds him making a PA tonight at subterranean Shoreditch haunt Village Underground. Details and tickets here.

Oval Space Music presents… Rampue/Rob Shields, Oval Space, 11 Aug
Oval Space’s ‘Music On The Terrace’ mini-series today showcases artists signed to modish vinyl-only label Petit. ‘Keta-disco’ star Rampue and east LDN innovator Rob Shields are billed as playing ‘live’, whilst the event later features DJ sets by El_Txef_A and Petit MD Oli (Petit). Details and tickets here.

TODAY’S THEATRE CHOICES

Armstrong’s War, Finborough Theatre, 11-27 Aug
The Finborough workshops award-winning Canadian (who isn’t Canadian today, that’s what I’d like to know) playwright Colleen Murphy’s new script ahead of its world premiere at Vancouver’s Arts Club Theatre. In it, a young soldier recovering in hospital finds an unlikely affinity with the twelve year old girl who reads to him. Details and tickets here.
