It’s Remembrance Day, so rather than undermine all that with a quippy segue here at the top, I’ll just pass on a trio of Sunday-in-London comedy shows we at TW like the look of, and guessed you might, too:

TODAY’S COMEDY CHOICES

The Wilmops, Wilmington Arms, 11 Nov
Tonight improv troupe Upstairs Downton ad-lib to a certain ITV post-wartime drama; Ben Target toys with props; treasure-to-be Harriet Kemsley does “weird and bashful”; and the easy, breezy Gareth Morinan does… Gareth Morinan. Not at all bad for a Sunday night in Islington, is it now? Information via www.thewilmingtonarms.co.uk

Tom Craine (pictured) and Josh Widdicombe – Work In Progress, The Pleasance, Islington, 11 Nov
Integral Jigsaw third Tom Craine and jocular comic Josh Widdicombe – who are both surely poised for greater solo stardom – practice their art for the pleasure of a paying audience. I don’t know exactly what they’ll be doing, and probably neither do they. But I have faith it’ll be watchable, so why not buy a ticket here.

Comedy Trumpet, The Antelope, Tooting Broadway, 11 Nov
Tooting Broadway hoots its Comedy Trumpet to the tune of co-headlining sets by droll Kiwi abroad Jarred Christmas and actress-comedienne Sara Pascoe. Sketch artistes Short And Curly and the charmingly slapdash Sean McLoughlin will also appear. Advance bookings at www.comedytrumpet.co.uk
