The usually east-based WLC spreads its wings southwards, setting its stall at Brixon’s Effra Social in time to present spiky (in the controversial sense, he’s actually bald) Swede Magnus Betner and a brilliant cast of supporting dial-a-comics. Details and tickets here.

Passion Play, Duke Of York’s Theatre, 1 May – 3 Aug
Peter Nichols’ hearty love-drama has proved lastingly popular since its initial staging in 1981, and now it’s back (again, in that it closed at the Richmond Theatre only last month) thanks to Tony-winning theatre whizz David Leveaux, who directs a cast starring Zoë Wanamaker, Owen Teale and Samantha Bond.
