More London‘s totally free arts festival presents a pair of plays set in the ancient Greek city of Thebes. Details here.

[title of show], Landor Theatre, 7 Aug – 14 Sep
A hit on and off Broadway in 2006/8, Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen’s one-act drama-within-a-drama, a “love letter to musical theatre, following your dreams, and daring to believe that you can actually get paid to do what you love” based on the pair’s real life experiences, celebrates its British premiere this eve at Clapham’s Landor. Details and tickets here.

West Side Story, Sadler’s Wells, 7 Aug – 22 Sep
Sondheim & Bernstein’s slick and gritty ‘Romeo And Juliet’ spin-off, a tale of embattled street gangs and a boy-girl love affair, tries its hand again at Sadler’s Wells, having last played at the theatre to Shakespearian-scale acclaim back in 2008. Details and tickets here.
